Weekly Bulletin 24th September 2018
Hello Everyone
I hope you are all well. The dojo is getting really hot and busy this week, as the adults grading is on Thursday 27th @ Derby Dojo. We still have few more days of practice before the grading so keep your spirits up and keep training as the goal is near. Please also make sure all the forms and fees are submitted before Wednesday this week, as we have some preparation for the grading.
Also we will be starting a new class run by Rowan who will be running the Tuesday class from this week. This is the first class of its type, as it will be open for adults and newly starting Cadets. Cadets are juniors who are over 11 years old or juniors who have the purple belt. For more details please read the information on this email.
Here is what is coming up this week.
NEW TUESDAY CLASS STARTS THIS WEEK (Adults/Cadets classes)
– Begins; 25th September 7.30pm – 8.30pm @ Dunkirk Dojo
When? Every Tuesday evening from 7:30pm until 8.30pm but please arrive early to allow time for putting the mats out and warming up
Where? The Dunkirk Dojo, Montpelier Rd, Dunkirk, Nottingham NG7 2JW
Who? Adult students of ALL LEVELS are encouraged to come to this class and content will be applicable for all students. Beginners are also welcome!
This is a class that is making a comeback after low numbers meant it had to stop. I am personally bringing this class back every week with added enthusiasm and energy. These classes will be a mix of a solidifying of the basics of Aikido and a look at Uke’s role and how to make our Aikido and fluid and dynamic as possible. The time starts half an hour later than it previously did to allow extra time for those travelling from work and struggle to make a 7 o’clock start. Arrive ready as these will be vigorous classes with lots of sweating!
This class will also open for all the juniors who are 11 years and above OR juniors who have attained the “Purple Belt” in junior class. Who will be moving on to the newly introduced Cadet classes. The aim of this level is to close the gap between the junior and adult class but the cadettes are training with the people of their own physical ability, focusing on more strict and dynamic syllabus.
(IMPORTANT NOTICE : Please make sure you check if you are eligible with sensei Tad before coming)
There will be more details on the belts and details of the Cadet syllabus at later date but at this time it will provide a tough training that will strengthen the student physically and will expose them to an adult class environment with other adult students in attendance.
SENIOR GRADING IN SEPTEMBER
The senior grading is approaching again soon. On the last week of Thursday 27th September is the Senior grading at Derby Dojo. We have roughly a month away to the grading, so if you are thinking of grading please start to get yourself ready for the big day. As per usual all the classes will be test practice for the last 2 weeks running up to the grading date. But its never too early to start prepping and start your practice with your partners.
